What is hosting?

Think of it as renting a space on the internet for your website, connected to a specific domain name.

In reality, you're renting a space on a server that's connected to the internet.

It's a bit like renting a piece of land in a suburb (server). You pay rent for the space (that's the hosting fee) while your home (website) is being built and once it is done, you continue to pay the rent (hosting fee). Your home (website) can also be moved from one suburb (server) to another.
